When your day consists of pee accidents in the grocery store, whiny-clingy baby, bed wettings, pen all over the couch, add scrubbing and more laundry to your already long list of things to do.  Not to mention the ever pressing stress of preparing your Relief Society lesson for Sunday, scout activity for Tuesday, and finding time to eat something other than string cheese, and get out of your sweats and exercise.  How the HECK are you supposed to “be of good cheer” on a sour day such as this?

Well truth be told, I don’t think heavenly father does expect you to.  But I do think he expects us to TRY our best, and continue with hope and faith in a better tomorrow (literally).

Hank Smith “Be Of Good Cheer” is a fantastic thing to listen to, GO DO IT!
Now try as I might to make it a good day in spite of everything, it still ended with me crying helplessly on the couch to my husband and slamming Tim-Tams down my throat (ps if you’ve never had a Tim Tam you are missing out).  BUT I didn’t go to bed with thoughts of hopelessness, or thinking that my life is doomed, I will never be happy again because today sucked, I might as well give up on this “motherhood” thing…no.  I said my prayers, and went to bed with thoughts and ideas of how to make tomorrow a better day.

Bad days happen.  Bad things happen.  If you’re in denial of this then I’m a little concerned for you….:/  But remember that the “future is as bright as your faith.”

God can’t give us peace and happiness apart from Himself because there is no such thing.
