INGREDIENTS NEEDED
(serves about 4)
(toppings)
2 c bean sprouts
green onions (however much desired)
1 jalapeno (sliced)
1 lime (sliced into 4 wedges)
1 bunch fresh cilantro
small handful fresh basil
1-2 large carrots (grated)
(broth)
3 Tbls minced garlic
1/4 c soy sauce
1/4 c hoisen sauce
1 Tbl siracha
3 inch ginger root peeled and slice (can also replace with 2 Tbls ginger paste)
6-8 c water2 beef/pork/chicken bouillon cubes (depends on what meat you’re using)
(other)
approx 1/4 lb meat of choice thinly sliced (we like beef or pork)
1 packet vermicelli noodles (the white kind Asian food isle)
DIRECTIONS
Add water, garlic, bouillon, sauces (soy, hoisen, siracha) and ginger to crock pot on high heat. Let cook for 1-2 hours. Add the meat (make sure it’s sliced very thin) and noodles. Once noodles are soft and meat is cooked serve hot and top with cilantro, green onions, jalapeno, carrots, bean sprouts, basil and lime. You can add more hoisen sauce to taste.
This is our kind of comfort food. I decided since Pho is one of my most favorite foods I should find a “fix” so that i”m not spending $$$
