Stylish mom
Does anyone else feel the pressure, desire to be, or the complete innability to be a “stylish mom”
Let me tell you…once you hit 30…there’s no particular time or day thereafter, but one day you realize “oh my goodness, I’m not dressing my age and it’s baaaad. 😬”
Okay, you’ve identified it…but now what. I grew up with 5 sisters and to say we all love clothes is an understatement lol. I always felt I had a grasp on what worked for me and what didn’t. Then one day it was like I became clueless over night. And if I’m being completely honest, I’m still unsure from time to time what an appropriate yet cute “mom outfit” looks like.
Now I’m all about “if you like it, then it’s your style” as a motto…but it’s still good to have a foundation set of guidlines when shopping.
Shopping guidelines
Now clearly I am in no place to tell you what is and isn’t age appropriate for you. Or what a “stylish mom” looks like to you. Again, I’m all about my motto 😉 But maybe these ideas can help give YOU that confidence you’re looking for. 💕
1-Start by shopping in age appropriate stores. I love Norstrom (especially during the anniversary sale) becuase it has such a wide range of styles, age groups, and price points.
I also enjoy finding local and ethical stores. Some I like are DownEast, Jessa Kae, Free People,
2-You are always safe with basics. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been playing safe in the “basic” area for years. My closet is stocked with tee shirts haha. I was overjoyed to find THESE flattering basic tees for only $12 (on sale until Sunday)
3-Learn your “type” There is an entire system by Carol Tuttle of how your true nature plays a major role in what types of clothing (colors, styles, fabrics etc) make you feel the best. You can take the free quiz to get a basic idea of your type HERE, then watch the tutorials on what styles, colors etc enhance your natural beauty, this will make the shopping experience so much less intimidating.
