- THE 6 KEYS TO MAKE AFFIRMATIONS CHANGE YOUR LIFE
- ALWAYS make them positive
- KEEP them in the present tense
- Surround them with POSITIVITY (you may for example say “I love my body” then immediately negative thoughts will come up. When this happens, gently guide positiviy back in) it WILL take practice.
- Look in a MIRROR (whenever possible) when you say them
- Repeat them at LEAST 100 times/day
- REMEMBER that they won’t feel true at first…you may even feel like you’re lying to yourself…that’s because they aren’t…yet. If they were already true your life would already be the way you want…so keep doing them until they become true for you!

I do affirmations with my kids every day! In addition, anytime something upsetting happens for them we have them say “I’m safe, I’m loved”
I feel that a healthy mindset is so vital for children to learn at a young age. My parents were great about teaching me that you feel what you CHOOSE to feel. I remember in middle school (not a difficult age at all right? lol) my mom would tell me “If you’re having a rough day, smile in the mirror for 20 seconds”
Great advice that I still utilize to this day!
