⛺️ Utah Camping | American Fork Canyon ⛺️
Kylie wanted to camp for her birthday more than anything! So despite the not so pleasant events of our last camping trip (here), we decided to make the sacrafice for our child, because that is what loving parents do. Ha ha. 😜
I’m happy to report that this experience was a night and day difference. We found this gem of a camp site in American Fork Canyon, called Little Mill Campground. Not only was it a dog friendly camp site, shaded, and right next to a river, but it was only 25 minutes from our home, AND affordable!
Today I’ll be sharing all you need to know about one of the best Utah camping sites (in my opinon). And other details that might be useful if you have pets and/or children.
Most important things you need to know before visiting Little Mill Campground
🐶 Dog friendly camp site:
Dogs must technically be on a leash at all times…however if your dog is well behaved, obedient and doesn’t cause problems, the camp host pretty much leaves your alone…in fact we didn’t see our camp host once, it was really nice.
🌳 There’s plenty of shade! 🌲
Safe the space, because there’s no need to pack that canopy. All of the camp site are covered by their own canopy of trees.
🔥Each site has a grill, table and firepit…..we really enjoyed the firepit 😂
And lots of tiny hidden trails connect from the sites into the woods, we didn’t see ANY poison oak, and there was plenty for the kids to explore!
🏞 Camp site 17 is the BEST!
Seriously, if you can, get site 17, it was large enough for at least 3 tents (so perfect for you and some friend or more family). AND my favorite feature….it is RIGHT next to the large creek that runs through the canyon. It’s also right by the restrooms….a short enough walk, but not too close where thes mell sneaks into your camp.
