5 BE KIND TO YOUR NEGATIVES
Not loving yourself is really just hating thoughts about yourself. When you have a negative thought, it’s really just your subconcious trying to protect you or fulfill a need. But you don’t have to hold on to them. Thank them for being there when it was necessarry, but now let them go.
6 SUPPORT YOURSELF
Do things that make you happy. And give yourself permission to find enjoyment in what you do.
You deserve to be happy. You are worthy of it.
7 LET YOURSELF LAUGH
“The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it, you can either laugh or cry, and I prefer to laugh because crying gives me a headach.”
-Marjorie Hinckley
I truly believe this. Don’t take yourself so darn seriously. Laughter is healing. Laughter brings light and life into your life!
8 LOVE & CARE FOR YOUR BODY
Taking care of your body is absolutley a way of loving yourself. So often we think, “oh once I lose the weight then I’ll love my body” NO, you are living in your body NOW, it’s your home, it is working tirelssly for you. Take care of it, love it, feed it nourishing foods and beverages.
8 STOP TRYING TO CHANGE OTHER PEOPLE
Think of all that time and mental energy you’re putting in to wanting and wishing other people to change. Therefore depriving YOURSELF of your love, time, attention etc.
I have this problem of working up scenarios and conversations with others that I want to change…I get so angry sometimes in these hypothetical conversations lol. To the point of feeling this dark cloud over me the rest of the day.
You can’t change other people, so just leave them alone! Haha.
9 RELAX
It’s amazing the tension we hold throughout our bodies. So give yourself permission to relax.
Just sit quietly and gently brush your finger over areas of your face and forhead, telling yourself to relax these areas.
Take a few deep breaths, you can also say “I love myself, I am safe”
10 SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF
There is absolutely nothing wrong or rude about standing up for yourself. You are essentially protecting yourself from being given less than all human beings deserve.
When someone cuts you off in line, if a restaurant gets your order wrong, if someone assumes you want one thing when you really want the other…often times situations that demand you speak up come about due to misunderstandings, and you don’t have to get angry and mean, but you CAN speak up.
And sadly sometimes we’re mistreated by other intentionally…these are the MOST important moments to speak up for yourelf. By you not saying something when someone mistreats you is essentially telling yourself that “this is the best you deserve, and you aren’t worth loving or worth being treated kindly” What a terrible message to send yourself. You ARE loveable, and you don’t have to earn the right to be loved. You are a child of God, and that’s reason enough!
