I get a million questions from people on and off social media about how I edit my photos. What apps or programs I use, if I use a camera or my phone. So I’ll be answering that on here today.
These are some photos from the beach day we had with my brother and his family while they were here. It was such a blast. Honestly I feel like the simplest activities are the most fulfilling (in everything). We roasted hot dogs, found hundreds of hermit crabs and watched mini clams burry themselves in the sand. It was so cool.
>>>>>Okay, on to HOW I EDIT MY PHOTOS
WHAT EQUIPMENT I USE: If i’m doing an actual photo session for a client, obviously I use a my canon. Lenses vary depending on what kind of shoot. (You really just need to find what you like and if you don’t have the money to purchase what you want now, you can rent them for super cheap. ) Photos on my blog and social media vary….90% of the time they are just taken with my phone (like these in this post were on my phone) if I’m lucky and able to plan a shoot I’ll always use my camera.
WHAT EDITING TOOLS I USE: If the photos are taken on my phone and I just want to post them on instagram I always use the VSCO app. I’ll apply and layer presets (usually the A4 or A6 and layer with N1 or HQ2). If I post the photos on my blog, I ALWAYS ALWAYS edit them in Adobe Lightroom, or Adobe Photoshop first.

HOW OFTEN I USE PRESETS: On social media I always use presets, along with adjusting the contrast, brightness and structure. In Lightroom/Photoshop I’ll occasionally use them. I’ll use the opportunity of posting on my blog to play around with different and more dramatic presets etc, but generally when working with a client’s photos I really only use mild presets.
