My little sister Grace & Kristi (cute names right 🙂 ) were/are obsessed with these shoes. And I never understood why. I’d see them everywhere, but since my little-then-high school sisters were in love, I figured they were a punky-teenager fad…I was in college, too cool for (high) school. LOL. Yeah lame. But now after having them catch my eye a million times for the past year I thought I’d try some on…uh oh. Now I’m hooked!
I want every color! I had the regular Chuck Taylor converse before, but I hated having to tie my shoes-they would never just slip on-I know first world problems right? But these Shoreline (basically lower, and they DO slip on by design) are game changers! I’m not kidding when I say i want EVERY color…but I’m trying to exercise self control. These were a gift, and that gift money is gone now-wow I’m just realizing now that I got 3 pairs of shoes for my B’day aaaand that’s pretty much it ahaha. So I guess I could actually get more colors with my money now…hmmmm.
NOW FAST FORWARD to a couple weeks later. Here’s the conclusion I’ve come to.
Cuteness & comfort cuteness=5 stars, comfort=3.5 stars
These shoes are cute, trendy, go with everything…there’s no denying that. Now are they the most comfortable? I’d say NO, but they’re not the worst the either. I’d say make sure you wear socks (I know they are kinda known for being worn with and without socks) if you will be moving around in them for a couple hours. My pinky says toe says it would be a good idea after I DID not wear socks the other day.
Function =4.5 stars
I love any shoe I can easily slip on and off. So these get a thumbs up here. Ps I’m talking about the ShoreLine Chuck Taylor.
Durability=5 stars
Well considering that I countless people who have had theirs for 3 years+ and they are still holding strong, I’d say you have nothing to worry about there
Staying in style=5 stars
Again, considering that these have been around since before I could remember I think you’re safe.
Worth the $50 price point?
Well really only you could say. Would I ever spend more than $50 (most places they are $55 at least) Well I did-it was a splurge fore me-But they haven’t become one of those shoes that I would buy more than one pair in other colors in…not yet anyway, we shall see. For $40, in a heartbeat I’d buy 3 more! But for now, I’m perfectly content with the one pair. They aren’t shoes that I would wear EVERY SINGLE DAY and therefore justify getting other pairs. But they ARE a very fun shoe. I love that they go with everything, and meanwhile I feel trendy. I also enjoy that they are not restricted to any certain age. Be young, be old, they look cute on anyone!
