UGH I just can’t handle the deliciousness! A few week ago we were visiting Daniel’s cousins in Austin, and they made us Dutch Babies or German Pancakes-depending on your preference-and holy oh my wonderfullness! I was like “where have these been my whole life?!” I guess I’ve had a bad taste in my mouth concerning Dutch Babies since Jr. High because in my cooking class we made them the wrong way. The recipe involved a lot of random ingredients and complicated directions….they were probably trying to add a little difficulty to it since it was school and all. Really though, if you wanted to give us a challenge don’t have us making pancakes! lol This recipe is soooo simple, basic, and fool proof. ENJOY!
Combine following ingredients in large bowl or stand alone mixer like a Kitchen Aid
6 large eggs
1 c milk
1 c flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 c sugar
Beat together until starts to bubble.
Melt 2 Tbls butter in 9 x 13 pan (or pie tins) at 350 degrees
Pour batter into pan and turn oven to 400 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes. The sides should start to rise and fan out
Top with your favorite toppings. Biscoff & yogurt are also amazing on them!
