okay, so I gotta say PROPS to those people who can take family photos and get so many great shots. Because it is nooo picnic. I can’t believe it’s the day before Christmas. Of course I procrastinated the grocery shopping until today, so Kylie and I braved the task of going out this morning…might I add I was dressed in short sleeves and Kylie in shorts. yeeeeeah it doesn’t really feel like Christmas here lol.
But other than the warm Christmas weather, let me tell you another reason why Texas is AWESOME. At the grocery store they had a Santa walking around giving out candy canes to everyone…he actually passed us 3 times and Kylie was stoked. And then in the check out line a worker comes up with a toy doll and just hands it to Kylie. WHAAAT. Yeah, I guess on Christmas eve they give out toys to all the kids. How cool is that!
But anyway, about these PJs. This is the first time in two years (since Kylie’s first Christmas) that we’ve had matching Christmas jammies, and I’m so in love! These are by Burt’s Bees (i freaking LOVE that company) and they feel so warm and comfy. Plus I love that they’re organic cotton. They’re apparently super popular this year because I was having the most hectic time finding them in stock and in the right sizes, and all the same pattern, talk about wanting to pull my hair out! Then in the end I couldn’t find the matching top for Daniel 🙁 But he runs warmer and prefers short sleeves anyway so it’s probably for the best.
TRADITIONS
“It’s true, Christmas can feel like a lot of work, particularly for mothers. But when you look back on all the Christmases in your life, you’ll find you’ve created family traditions and lasting memories. Those memories, good and bad, are really what help to keep a family together over the long haul.”

JAMMIES—Christmas jammies are probably a tradition for most people. But something different we do (although we didn’t’ get to this year) is open them December 1 and make a big breakfast. That way we get more use out of them for the Christmas month.
TIM-TAM SLAM—You are missing out on a little slice of heaven if you haven’t tried Tim-Tams. We eat them Christmas eve with hot chocolate. The tim tam slam is when you bite a small piece off opposite corners, dip one end in hot cocoa, suck up the cocoa through the cookie (YES it goes up through the cookie) and eat it as fast as you can (no hands if you’re hard core). The hot chocolate makes the cookie melt like lava cake, it’s amazing!
CAROLING LOVE—To think that there are people in the world who spend the entire Christmas season alone just breaks my heart. What would it be like to feel forgotten. I gotta’ stop there or I’ll get depressed. But there is a place you can go to put in your zip code and it will bring up places where you can go visit rest homes, or refugee shelters. I hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, and I hope that you (and me) can remember to try to focus outward among all the busy hustle and bustle. It’s going to be my goal today…wish me luck.
