Who doesn’t love Naked Smoothies!? But they’re so darn expensive! If you’re picking one up at Starbucks on the daily that adds up to approx $30 a week! GROSS.
But you don’t have to stop making healthy choices in order to save some dough. Here’s a little secret, the Naked Smoothie people are so awesome that they list all the ingredients on the back of the bottle! Well isn’t it kinda a no brainer that if you want a Naked Smoothie EVERY DAY (like I do), why not just stock your fridge with the ingredients and follow the recipe? Well that’s exactly what I did here. The Green Machine (I always call is Green Monster though….don’t know why) is one of my favorite flavors, and it’s been on repeat for me lately, so naturally it’s my smoothie of choice that I’ll be sharing with you today.
I put my own spin on this recipe because I don’t have ALL the ingredients like spirulina (which is amazing btw), barley grass, wheat grass etc. But it’s still just as tasty.
::RECIPE::
2 apples (juiced-unless you have a powerful blender like Vitamix, Blendtec etc)
1 banana (frozen)
1/2 Kiwi
1/2 Mango
1/4 c Pineapple
handful spinach
handful kale
little less than 1/2 inch ginger
protein powder (optional)
Blend together and that’s it! You’re done! Takes me literally 5 min (I pre-slice and freeze everything so I can just grab and go), much faster than stopping at Starbucks on your way to work or school 😉
