The weird shadow on my arm totally makes it look like I have a hickey! BAHAHAHA
HELLLOOOOO my friends. Yes I’m PREGNANT with baby #2 (SQUEEEEAL). And if you’ve followed my blog for awhile then you know that my pregnancies get pretty intense. Constant nausea, dizziness, non stop vomiting and utter exhaustion. (Hence, why I’ve been gone so long). This time around wasn’t quite as bad as with Kylie (I mean I wasn’t forced to get an IV every 3 days in order to keep food and water down so that’s a plus). But it still hasn’t been a vacation by any means. I’m just now starting to come out of the nausea phase. WOOHOOOO! I made it through church the last two Sundays, I’m not spending most of my days in the bathroom anymore, AND I’ve been cooking meals again here and there, so things are definitely looking up.
Obviously I haven’t exactly been in the mood to get outdoors with my camera much, so here are some pics that I’ve snapped here and there with my phone…not my greatest, but they’re at least something to document our recent life.
Mother’s and Father’s day crafts Kylie made in nursery at church ^_^ plus our first ultrasound pic of baby
Fun music time with daddy. Kylie likes to play the bowl & spoon drums
She’s currently obsessed with Elmo and Olaf
Sooo Kylie doesn’t like waiting rooms lol
UPDATES + Q&As
Any nausea?
Heavens yes!
Were you trying to have another kid?
Yes and no. We were trying for a little over a year. And we actually started to get a little worried that maybe Kylie was a fortunate accident. This was a very sad phase for me. And my heart goes out to all women who have ever struggled, or are struggling with infertility, my heart just breaks for you.
Anyway, we decided to stop actively trying and to put things in the Lords hands. Which I became fine with because finances and other plans took a turn and then of course, that’s when it happened. God certainly does have a different agenda and sense of humor that’s for sure! But we are so grateful and excited!
Do you know the gender yet?
No, we will find out in a couple weeks
How far along?
16 weeks (4 months)
Do have names picked out?
Yes, but we’re keeping them a surprise this time around ^_^
Do you want a boy or girl?
At first I was dead set on a boy. But now to be completely honest, I’d be so happy with either. A boy would be fun and new, because we’d have one of each. But another girl would make it so I could have two little ballerinas in tutus etc (eeeep so cute!)
Any complications?
There was a moment when I though I miscarried, and it was the scariest most heart wrenching thing. But everything turned out to be ok.
Are you using an OB or Midwife?
Definitely going with a midwife again. I realize it’s not for everyone, but after the amazing birth experience I had with Kylie, my midwife and having her at home, I just can’t do it any other way. Besides my midwife is AMAAAAZING and she already knows us, she’s delivered with me before, so for us it just makes sense.
Any cravings?
When am I ever NOT craving something, pregnancy or no LOL. I went through a Subway sandwich, and potato soup phase…mainly because it was all I could keep down. But now I’ve been crazy for salads and plums.
How does this pregnancy compare to last time?
Well although I’ve been pretty sick this time, it still isn’t as bad as the first one. With Kylie I had something called Hyperemesis Gravidarum which in a nutshell meant throwing up NO LESS than 10 times a day. Any food and even the tiniest sip of water or ice cube would make me vomit. So I was literally starving and extremely dehydrated. Yeah it sucked. This time I didn’t have that same condition (hallelujah!) I think the lord understood that Kylie needs her mom to be somewhat present, so he spared me the extreme sickness this time, for which I am eternally grateful!
Thank you for stopping by everyone! Hopefully this improvement will continue to go upwards from here, and I’ll be back into my regular posting routine!
XOXO
